Can you gather more points than the other teams?

Develop something exciting
If you love programming, participate in our «Hackathon» challenge. Join a team and build a solution for the challenge together.
Can you build the most innovative or functional solution?

Make something fun
If you're more a creative type or not quite confident enough in your programming skills, or if you just plain love making games, the «Game Jam» challenge is for you. Together with a team you will create a fun game using the tools you prefer.
Can your team create the most fun or creative game?

What is a «CTF»? What is a hacking competition? How will it work?

Teams of 2-4 people try to solve different hacking challenges using programming and various tools. Challenges range in difficulty and reward. In every challenge the participants need to recover a «flag» which is the solution.

What is a «Hackathon»? What is a programming challenge?

A challenge consists of a problem, information and resources surrounding it. Teams of 2-4 people can come up with their own approaches to solve this problem and attempt to implement it as well as possible in the provided timeframe. A «Hackathon» is a «Marathon» of quick and dirty programming.

What is a «Game Jam»? What is a game making challenge?

A challenge consists of a prompt or a theme and resources surrounding it. Teams of 2-4 people can come up with new ideas and attempt to make them into a game as fun as possible in the provided timeframe. A «Game Jam» is a like a «Hackathon» but focused on game making instead.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Attending this competition is completely free.

Where is the event?

The event is being hosted at Suurstoffi in Rotkreuz.

Will there be food?

Yes, there is free food. We will provide food, snacks and drinks for everyone throughout the event.

Help, I can't code!

You don't need to be a coding champ, basic coding skills are enough for some of the «CTF» challenges and the «Game Jam» depending on your tools of choice (Scratch, etc.) need only basic experience.

Do I need a laptop?

Yes, this year all of our challenges require the use of a computer.

What size are the teams?

The teams will range in size from 2 to 4 people. You can choose your team in the beginning, so if you are planning to come alone don't worry about not finding a team.
